I'm more than a little confused over which files (applications) are needed for Windows XP Pro and VWD 2008 Express.

What goes, what stays and what do I need?

  Answer1:

  VWD 2008 will let you know if you're missing required files.  You need the 2.0 framework and VWD, but nothing esle is required.  You will want ASP.NET 3.5 and some kind of SQL.  You may want the SDK and previous framework versions.
